The Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium is a vast wilderness wonderland just south of the city. The park features 39 miles of beautiful hiking trails over 3,500 acres next to a 44-acre lake. Go mountain biking or try the adventure ropes course, or enroll your child in summer day camp.

Bays Mountain also features a planetarium showcasing the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landings. You can also come face-to-face with a Gray Wolf pack and hear them howl in chorus.
KINGSPORT AQUATIC CENTER
More fun in the sun happens over at the Aquatic Center near Cattails at MeadowView Golf Course. The huge waterpark has plenty of family fun pools and waterslides, but also features the only Olympic-size competition pool in the region. Your kids can even try out the inflatables obstacle course on weekends.
FARMERS MARKET
The Kingsport Farmers Market has been a staple for over 40 years in the heart of the city. The market offers up local produce on Wednesdays and Saturdays from now until October. Head on over on Saturdays for free cooking demos by local chefs showcasing ingredients found at the market, or get free gardening tips and training at the Homegrown Gardening Series to learn how to grow your own produce.
FUN FEST
For over 30 years, Kingsport has been hosting the annual week-long music festival called Fun Fest. On July 12-20, head to the football stadium for concert after concert, an array of food choices from local restaurants, and stunning hot air balloon flights.
